Resume 2.0 is a concept that typifies the natural evolution of recruitment from the "traditional" (written) resume as the primary recruitment tool to advanced Web technologies. The term does not represent a specific product or event. Rather, a gradual movement or shift in mindset & approach to reviewing job applicants and performing due diligence as it relates to employee selection.

As technology improves, recruiters & hiring managers are discovering new tools to provide decision-making criteria. Some include social & professional networking tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook, & MySpace. Others are content sharing mediums such as Blogs, YouTube, Google searches & AudioResume.Net.


The result being an abundence of information that allows recruiters & hiring managers to collect information previously unavailable, and many times produced by sources other than the subject.

Several professional recruiters & career specialist predict that, in the near future, the traditional (written) resume will become extinct or completely useless - giving way to full reliance on the Resume 2.0 methodology as the best resume format.
